ES Weekly Review | October 19–23, 2026
Upper discovery was rejected as the auction transferred value into the lower distribution and consolidated around the 7690.00 multi-timeframe VPOC cluster.

The week completed a full two-way traversal of the developing monthly range. Early-week buyers repaired the upper auction and reached 7812.25, but the market did not establish durable acceptance beyond that distribution. Thursday and Friday then transferred value sharply lower, leaving the monthly, weekly, 10-day and 5-day VPOCs stacked at 7690.00. The late-week shift is meaningful, but weekly and monthly balance remain developing; it is not yet a confirmed higher-timeframe breakdown.
Early balance developed into upside discovery
Monday began with two-sided trade around 7741.25–7754.50. The auction repeatedly checked the 7727.50 Siege Control Line and the 7768.75 multi-day VPOC area, but neither side established acceptance away from value. The session closed balanced, with poor structure at 7773.00–7775.00 and a single print at 7774.50 left overhead.
Tuesday first tested lower. ETH approached the still-uncovered 7703.00 October 16 nVPOC, and RTH sellers failed to extend below 7710.25. That rejection initiated a squeeze through Monday’s 7743.25 nVPOC, the 7754.50 weekly and 5-day VPOC, and the 7769.00 20-day VPOC. Price reached 7791.50, then rotated back toward 7754.50 before a second late test of the high. The repeated high created a clear liquidity reference but did not yet establish acceptance in the upper distribution.
Wednesday continued the repair. Two ETH rotations approached the 7754.50 composite HVN and multi-timeframe VPOC cluster without producing sustained trade below it. RTH swept the 7757.00 overnight low, reached 7751.00 and recovered through developing and overnight value. Buyers cleared Tuesday’s high and extended to 7812.25, satisfying the prior potential LAAF and Siege Control Line. The response was constructive, but the return into value showed that the auction had tested—not accepted—the upper boundary.
The late-week auction transferred value lower
Thursday changed the weekly sequence. ETH mean reverted to 7754.50 and continued through it. RTH opened at 7729.00, satisfied the 7741.00 opening-swing reference from below and failed to reclaim 7754.50. Sellers then cleared the overnight low, traversed the 7720s low-volume corridor and reached 7676.75. That low aligned with the inherited multi-day boundary, prior Siege Control Line and potential LBAF. Buyers defended the first test, but the session held lower value with its VPOC at 7690.00.
Friday tested whether that defense could hold. ETH repaired to 7714.25, but RTH opened beneath 7676.75. The first rebound into 7674.00–7676.75 failed from below. Sellers moved through the 7666.00 September 10 micro-composite VPOC, the 7658.00 composite HVN and the thin 7647.00 corridor, reaching 7648.50 before responsive buyers rejected further continuation. The still-uncovered 7622.50 September 16 nVPOC remained below. Friday then balanced around 7666.00, confirming daily one-time-framing down with the sequence ending at 7697.25.
Value migration defines the week
The most important weekly development is not the distance traveled, but where value finished. The auction began around the 7741.25–7754.50 region and reached 7812.25 before the late-week reversal. By Friday, the monthly, weekly, 10-day and 5-day VPOCs had converged at 7690.00. That migration shows that the market accepted meaningful business in the lower distribution after rejecting the upper test.
The week nevertheless remains inside developing monthly balance. Buyers repaired upper structure early, while sellers repaired and redistributed the lower composite late. The completed profile therefore describes a broad two-way auction with a lower-value finish—not a clean weekly trend. Daily one-time-framing down is confirmed, while weekly and monthly balance remain developing.
Upside: reclaiming migrated value
The first upside decision area is 7674.50–7697.25. The lower boundary is the Friday-generated Siege Control Line and potential LAAF; 7690.00 is the stacked monthly, weekly, 10-day and 5-day VPOC; 7697.25 marks the end of the confirmed daily one-time-framing-down sequence. Acceptance above the full band would show that Friday’s lower distribution is being rejected rather than merely revisited.
If buyers hold above 7697.25, the first repair path is 7703.75–7714.25, where Friday’s overnight and prior session structure overlap. Beyond that, the October 22 gap and prior value between 7741.00 and 7754.50 become the more consequential test. Sustained trade through 7754.50 would place the 7768.50 20-day VPOC in focus. Extended upside acceptance would reopen 7801.25–7812.25, followed by 7851.25–7855.00.
Downside: leaving the lower distribution
The first downside reference is 7666.00, Friday’s VPOC and the September 10 micro-composite VPOC. Acceptance beneath it leaves developing value overhead and reopens the 7658.00 composite HVN. The weekly low and Friday-generated potential LBAF at 7648.50 then become the defining boundary.
Sustained trade below 7648.50 and through the thin 7647.00 corridor would show that the market is leaving the lower distribution rather than rotating within it. That would expose the still-uncovered 7622.50 September 16 nVPOC. A downside probe that cannot hold beneath 7648.50 would instead favor mean reversion through 7666.00 and back toward 7674.50–7697.25.
Week-ahead framework
The auction begins next week near the lower edge of developing higher-timeframe balance. The primary decision area is 7674.50–7697.25. Buyers need to reclaim 7697.25 and hold above the migrated 7690.00 value cluster to begin repairing the late-week decline. Sellers need acceptance below 7648.50 to convert the lower test into continued discovery.
Between those boundaries, the market remains a rotational auction organized by 7666.00 and 7690.00. Acceptance—not the first touch—will determine whether the next sequence is repair back toward 7754.50–7768.50 or continuation toward 7622.50.
