Thursday shifted decisively into lower value after sellers rejected the prior multi-timeframe VPOC cluster.
Overnight sellers rejected higher-timeframe value
ETH opened with sellers and mean reverted into 7754.50, where the weekly, 5-day and 10-day VPOCs converge with a major composite HVN. Price pushed through that cluster and tested below Wednesday’s 7751.00 low before buyers temporarily stabilized the auction.
The rejection of the VPOC cluster mattered because it had anchored the preceding upper distribution. Once price could not regain it from below, the auction began transferring activity toward the lower portion of the active microcomposite.
Responsive buying failed beneath the broken cluster
RTH opened at 7729.00 with responsive buying that established the opening swing high. The subsequent selloff was followed by a recovery that satisfied the 7741.00 opening-swing reference from below.
Buyers exhausted before they could retest 7754.50. That failure preserved the prior value cluster as resistance and allowed selling pressure to resume through the overnight low and the 7710 area.
Value migrated into the lower distribution
As price traversed the 7710 area, the auction filled thinner composite structure and began building time in the lower distribution. Thursday’s value-area high developed at 7710.75, while RTH VPOC migrated to 7690.00.
The session low formed at 7676.75, directly at the inherited multi-day composite boundary. That area also aligns with the active Siege Control Line and potential LBAF carried into Thursday’s auction. Buyers defended the initial test, but the response did not recover the broken upper structure; price remained rotational in the lower distribution into the close.
Prior balance references were satisfied
Thursday satisfied the lower side of the prior balance framework. The 7754.50 VPOC/HVN cluster was lost, Wednesday’s lower auction was covered, and the lower 7710-area reference was traversed.
The response at 7676.75 prevented immediate continuation, but it did not repair the lower-value migration. Friday therefore begins with the market deciding whether this new lower distribution represents acceptance or a failed probe that can rotate back toward prior value.
The decision area
The immediate decision area is 7676.75–7710.75, spanning Thursday’s active Siege Control Line through the session’s value-area high. Acceptance away from this band will determine whether lower value persists or the auction begins repairing Thursday’s displacement.
Acceptance above
If buyers reclaim and hold above 7710.75, the first repair path runs toward 7741.00–7742.50, where the opening-swing reference, Thursday gap edge and prior session high converge.
The larger recovery test remains 7754.50. Acceptance back above that weekly, 5-day and 10-day VPOC cluster and major composite HVN would repair the rejection and reopen 7768.75, the 20-day VPOC. Failure beneath 7710.75 keeps Thursday’s lower distribution intact and returns focus to 7690.00 and 7676.75.
Acceptance below
If sellers establish acceptance below 7676.75–7666.25, the auction leaves both the defended multi-day boundary and the September 10 microcomposite VPOC behind.
The next structural check is 7658.00, an established composite HVN. Continued selling through that node enters the thinner 7647 area, where limited historical acceptance can allow faster traversal.
Sustained trade through that low-volume corridor brings the still-open 7622.50 September 16 nVPOC into play. A failed lower probe followed by a reclaim of 7690.00 would instead favor rotation back toward 7710.75.
Auction condition
Daily balance remains confirmed, while weekly and monthly balance remain developing. Friday’s first decision is whether participants accept Thursday’s lower distribution or reject it back toward the broken 7754.50 value cluster.
