Daily Contextual Analysis & Plan | October 19, 2026
Monday repaired a meaningful portion of Friday’s lower-volume auction, but repeated rejection at the combined 5-day and 20-day VPOC kept the completed session balanced beneath higher-timeframe value.
Overnight repair reached higher-timeframe value
ETH opened with buyers moving quickly through Friday’s lower-volume region. That repair carried the auction to the 7768.75 area, where the 5-day and 20-day VPOCs converge. This was the first major test of whether Friday’s lower value could reconnect with the higher distribution.
Buyers could not sustain trade above that confluence. Price rotated back toward 7741.25–7741.50, an area supported by both composite and micro-composite high-volume structure. The overnight VPOC migrated into that region, and ETH maintained balance there into the RTH open.
Responsive buying defended the lower extreme
RTH opened at 7741.50 and initially remained rotational around the overnight value center. A quick downside extension tested 7727.50 and established the RTH low. Buyers responded immediately rather than building acceptance beneath the opening distribution.
The recovery progressed through the 7755.25 composite HVN. Price then rotated back to 7741.25 for a successful price check before resuming the upside auction. That sequence showed responsive demand at the lower extreme and continued willingness to transact around the overnight value center.
The repeated VPOC rejection defined the session
The second advance satisfied the overnight high and again tested 7768.75. RTH extended to 7773.25, but buyers still failed to establish acceptance above the combined 5-day and 20-day VPOC. The same higher-timeframe reference rejected price in both ETH and RTH, making it the defining test of Monday’s auction.
The failure left the 7773.00–7775.00 poor structure unresolved and preserved the open 7774.50 single print. These remain repair references for the next session; Monday’s high stopped just beneath the single print rather than covering it.
Value returned to the center
After the failed higher-price test, price rotated back into the central distribution. Monday’s RTH VPOC settled at 7743.00, directly beside the overnight VPOC and the composite HVN around 7741.25. This alignment identifies 7741.25–7743.00 as the completed session’s center of gravity.
The late auction remained two-sided around that center rather than sustaining directional discovery. Daily balance is confirmed, while Weekly and Monthly balance remain developing.
The decision area
The immediate decision area is 7741.25–7743.00. It combines the overnight VPOC, Monday’s RTH VPOC and higher-volume composite structure. Acceptance away from this center will determine whether the auction repairs Monday’s unfinished structure above or leaves the balanced distribution through its lower edge.
Acceptance above
If buyers reclaim and sustain trade above 7768.75, the first objective is repair of the 7773.00–7775.00 poor structure and coverage of the 7774.50 single print. Holding above those references would show that the repeated VPOC rejection is losing control.
The next material test is near 7784.00. Friday’s RTH auction built a local high-volume node there, while the broader composite records a low-volume transition in the same region. That disagreement between session-level acceptance and higher-timeframe rejection makes 7784.00 a high-information price check: sustained trade would promote the local node into broader acceptance, while rejection would preserve the composite boundary.
Acceptance through that transition opens the 7803.25 potential LAAF. The level also aligns with overlapping two-day, multi-day and three-day balance highs, giving the area additional structural weight. The potential LAAF is a forward reference for the next auction.
Acceptance below
If sellers establish acceptance below 7741.25–7743.00, the first major test is 7727.50. For the next session, that price becomes the Siege Control Line because it marks Monday’s RTH low, initial-balance low and lower boundary of the completed distribution. It is a forward reference generated from Monday’s completed profile and is not used to explain Monday’s response.
Acceptance beneath 7727.50 enters the composite and micro-composite low-volume corridor near 7722.00. Because relatively little prior trade was accepted there, price can traverse the area quickly unless responsive buyers return.
Passage through that thin structure exposes the 7712.25 composite HVN, where the auction can test for renewed agreement. Sustained trade below that volume then brings the open 7703.00 October 16 nVPOC into focus. Rejection below 7727.50 followed by a reclaim of 7741.25 would instead favor mean reversion toward Monday’s 7743.00 VPOC.
Auction condition
Monday confirmed balance after repairing part of Friday’s directional move. The completed profile did not resolve the larger question because buyers repeatedly failed at 7768.75 and sellers could not sustain trade beneath 7727.50.
The practical framework remains conditional. Acceptance above 7768.75 shifts the auction toward structural repair and the 7784.00–7803.25 corridor. Acceptance below 7727.50 leaves Monday’s balance and exposes 7722.00, 7712.25 and the 7703.00 nVPOC in directional order.
