ES Weekly Review | October 12–16, 2026

Upper balance gave way to a decisive repricing lower as value migrated from the multi-timeframe VPOC cluster into Friday’s lower distribution.

ESZ6 weekly contextual analysis for October 12–16, 2026

Open full-size review

The week began with the auction still organized around the 7855.00–7855.75 monthly, 10-day, weekly and 5-day VPOC cluster. Monday and Tuesday produced broad two-way trade through the upper distribution, repeatedly returning toward that multi-timeframe concentration of volume rather than establishing acceptance beyond the developing three-day balance.

Upper balance gave way to initiative selling

Monday’s overnight auction reached the 7886.25 composite low-volume corridor, but RTH remained inside Friday’s range and ultimately ended the preceding daily one-time-framing-up sequence at 7846.25. Tuesday again traversed the VPOC cluster, tested 7863.25–7864.00 and then swept the 7836.00 overnight low to 7834.50. Responsive buying rotated back through value, confirming that the auction was still balanced rather than trending.

Wednesday’s CPI response changed that condition. Initiative sellers broke the lower edge of the three-day balance and continued through multiple structural references. The decline covered the 7808.00 October 8 nVPOC and the 7775.00 October 2 nVPOC, repaired the 7747.00 single print and filled the October 1 gap at 7741.50. Selling pressure moderated only after that gap was filled.

The session’s 96.75-point high-to-low auction migrated RTH value to 7768.75, where the session VPOC aligned with the then-current 20-day VPOC and the high-volume node of the active composite distribution. This was the first material transfer of value away from the upper balance.

Thursday tested the durability of the repricing

Thursday extended lower during ETH and found balance around Wednesday’s potential LBAF. RTH produced one final seller flush to 7717.25 before buyers reversed the auction. The recovery re-entered Wednesday’s value and stair-stepped higher through three distinct RTH distributions.

The middle distribution accumulated volume around Wednesday’s 7768.75 VPOC, while the updated 20-day VPOC moved to 7772.00. Late trade built a third distribution above that region and migrated Thursday’s RTH VPOC to 7791.00. The session reached 7801.75, but the recovery stopped short of re-establishing acceptance in the prior upper balance.

Thursday’s completed auction generated 7799.75 as Friday’s Siege Control Line. That distinction matters: the line was a forward reference derived from Thursday’s completed session, and Friday’s response to it supplied the next evidence.

Friday rejected the repair and resumed discovery

Friday’s ETH auction remained balanced inside Thursday’s upper distribution, but RTH sellers immediately rejected higher prices. Acceptance below Thursday’s 7799.75 Siege Control Line and 7791.00 VPOC shifted control back to sellers.

The decline crossed the 7769.00 20-day VPOC, repaired Thursday’s poor structure and covered Thursday’s open 7753.75 single print. Friday independently created new single prints at 7774.50, 7753.75 and 7735.00, leaving an overhead repair path for the next auction.

When price broke Thursday’s 7717.25 low, stops were released. A subsequent retest of that level from below failed to regain Thursday’s range, and the auction resumed price discovery to 7676.00. Late-session value formed in the lower distribution and Friday’s RTH VPOC migrated to 7703.00.

Value migration defines the weekly result

The defining feature of the week is the movement of accepted value. The auction began around 7855.00–7855.75, transferred through 7768.75–7769.00 and finished with Friday’s VPOC at 7703.00. That is a material repricing across several composite distributions rather than a single-session excursion.

Daily balance is confirmed, while weekly and monthly balance remain developing. Friday’s completed session creates 7676.00 as the next Siege Control Line and potential LBAF. Together, 7676.00–7703.00 forms the immediate decision area for the coming week.

Upside: acceptance above the decision area

If buyers establish acceptance above 7703.00, the auction reclaims Friday’s RTH VPOC and can begin repairing through the lower distribution toward the 7730.25 composite HVN. A brief probe above the VPOC is insufficient; buyers need sustained time and volume above it to show that Friday’s lower value is being left behind.

If accepted higher, the 7769.00 20-day VPOC becomes the next major value test. Continued trade through the 7781.00 low-volume boundary would reopen the 7789.75–7791.00 composite HVN and Thursday VPOC region. Acceptance there would represent a broader repair of Friday’s initiative decline.

If not, failed repair above 7703.00 favors rotation back toward 7676.00 and keeps the lower distribution in control.

Downside: acceptance below the decision area

If sellers establish acceptance below 7676.00, the auction clears Friday’s low, the next Siege Control Line and the potential LBAF while leaving Friday’s developing value overhead.

If accepted lower, the first major price-check area is 7666.25–7657.25. That region combines the September 10 micro-composite VPOC with the composite HVN, making it the nearest meaningful concentration of prior business beneath the weekly low. Sustained trade beneath that volume opens the 7622.50 nVPOC.

If not, rejection below 7676.00 followed by a reclaim of 7703.00 would weaken the continuation case and favor mean reversion through the lower distribution.

Week-ahead framework

The auction starts the new week below the prior multi-timeframe value cluster. Buyers must repair and hold reclaimed value, first above 7703.00 and then through 7730.25. Sellers must establish acceptance beneath 7676.00 to continue discovery toward 7666.25–7657.25 and 7622.50.

Between 7676.00 and 7703.00, the market remains in Friday’s lower distribution. The next directional signal comes from sustained acceptance outside that corridor, not from a temporary price probe through either edge.
