Weekly Overview · October 5–9, 2026
ES Weekly Review | October 5–9, 2026
The week balanced across nested composite distributions, rejecting both RTH extremes before Friday returned the auction to the northern low-volume corridor.

The week opened from the lower edge of composite value
The auction began with the 7778.25 RTH weekly low forming just above the 7775.00–7771.50 composite-value and 20-day VPOC region. The 20-day VPOC had already been tested from above during the prior week. This time, buyers responded before price could fully re-enter the higher-volume area, showing that the lower edge continued to attract responsive demand.
That response shaped Monday’s auction. Aggressive buying traversed two composite distributions and carried price nearly 70 points higher toward the 7838.25 composite HVN, one major distribution above the opening region. The move converted a defended lower-edge test into an initiative auction through previously established value.
Tuesday tested the upper distribution
Tuesday opened higher and continued into the final composite distribution below all-time-high territory. The advance produced the 7897.50 RTH weekly high, where responsive selling emerged and prevented continued price discovery.
The rejection from the upper extreme began a multi-session rotation through the northern composite distribution. Wednesday opened lower and continued the repair, returning price through areas that Monday and Tuesday had traversed quickly.
The lower rotation found buyers in composite LVN territory
Thursday extended the rotation through 7800.00 and reached 7783.00, where the session low aligned with composite and micro-composite LVN territory. Buyers rejected that lower extreme and mean-reverted the auction toward the 7824.00 monthly, weekly, 10-day and 5-day VPOC cluster.
Friday continued that repair. Price returned through the 7838.25 composite HVN, reclaimed the prior-session 7858.75 Siege Control Line/potential LAAF and finished near the upper end of the weekly range. The response left price pressing the low-volume corridor beneath the upper composite distribution.
The weekly auction remains balanced
The completed week tested meaningful structure on both sides without establishing sustained value beyond either extreme. Daily balance is confirmed, while weekly and monthly balance remain developing. The auction has moved across several nested distributions, but the weekly close leaves the next structural decision at the northern edge.
Decision area: 7869.50–7874.50
The 7869.50–7874.50 region combines Friday’s newly calculated 7869.50 Siege Control Line/potential LAAF with the October 6 nVPOC at 7874.50. This area sits inside the low-volume corridor leading into the final composite distribution below all-time-high territory.
Acceptance is defined by auction behavior rather than elapsed time. Price must trade through the area, attract volume, build structure and hold it on rotation. A brief probe followed by immediate rejection would not establish acceptance.
Acceptance above opens the upper distribution
If buyers establish acceptance above 7874.50, assess 7893.25 first, followed by the 7897.50 RTH weekly high and 7900.00. Continued value development above the upper distribution would support true price discovery beyond previously traded composite structure.
The response becomes material when the underlying composite HVN is traded through and tested from above. That test serves as a price check: continued buyer response supports acceptance and shifts attention toward the LVN at the northern edge of the distribution and the next HVN above it.
Acceptance below returns the auction toward composite value
If the decision area rejects and sellers regain acceptance below the 7838.25 composite HVN, the auction returns through the northern distribution toward the 7824.00 multi-time-frame VPOC cluster.
Continued acceptance lower exposes the October 8 nVPOC at 7808.00, followed by the 7778.25 RTH weekly low and the 7775.00–7771.50 composite-value and 20-day VPOC region. Failure to build value below the composite HVN would preserve the potential for rotation back toward the northern decision area.
Auction condition
The week finished in balance after testing the outer edges of multiple composite and micro-composite distributions. Buyers repaired Thursday’s lower probe, but continuation requires acceptance through 7869.50–7874.50. Rejection keeps 7838.25 and 7824.00 in focus as the principal return path toward established value.
