WEEKLY OVERVIEW · SEPTEMBER 28–OCTOBER 2, 2026

ES Weekly Review | September 28–October 2, 2026

Repeated probes below the 10-day value-area low failed to establish lower acceptance. The auction rejected Thursday’s low and returned to the tightly stacked multi-time-frame value cluster that organized Friday’s trade.

ESZ6 Weekly Contextual Analysis for September 28 through October 2, 2026

Open full-size review

Balance remained the governing condition

The 10-day value area spans 7728.50–7808.00. Its VPOC and the 20-day VPOC align at 7771.50, while the Weekly VPOC and Friday’s RTH VPOC sit just above at 7775.00. These tightly grouped references define the central fair-value region of the current auction.

Price rotated through several composite distributions during the week, spending much of its time repairing lower-volume structure and repeatedly checking established higher-time-frame HVNs. The result was not directional acceptance. It was a continuing search for fair value inside overlapping daily, weekly and multi-day balance.

Lower probes failed to establish acceptance

Tuesday produced the first meaningful probe beneath the 7728.50 10-day value-area low. Wednesday and Thursday each extended farther into the lower composite distribution shown below that boundary, but the auction did not develop sustained time and volume outside value.

Thursday’s low produced the clearest response. Sellers reached the lower balance region, but buyers rejected the extension and carried price back into the 10-day balance. That response suggests the market found prices temporarily too low, although it does not establish upside continuation by itself.

The open October 1 nVPOC at 7690.00 and Thursday’s low remain below the current auction. Multiple tests around that lower extreme created visible weakness, leaving resting stops beneath it as potential fuel if sellers later achieve acceptance through the southern distribution boundary.

Friday returned the auction to central value

Friday rotated on both sides of the 7771.50–7775.00 cluster. On the micro-composite scale, that trade checked the edges of the compact distribution centered near the 10-day and 20-day VPOCs. On the broader composite scale, the same rotation remained inside the larger distribution bounded by the 7728.50 10-day VAL and 7808.00 10-day VAH.

This distinction matters: the market can leave a smaller distribution while remaining balanced inside the larger one. Friday’s movement around the VPOC cluster therefore reflected two-sided facilitation near fair value, not independent evidence of a new directional auction.

Upper distribution: acceptance above 7808.00–7815.00

The first upside decision region is 7808.00–7815.00. It combines the 10-day VAH, the potential LAAF, Friday’s high, the September 25 high and the lower-volume edge of the composite distribution immediately above current value.

If buyers establish acceptance through that thin region, price can traverse toward the open September 22 nVPOC at 7832.00. Sustained trade through that reference brings the nearby 7838.00 composite HVN into focus. That higher-volume node is the more consequential price check because acceptance there would reconnect the auction with established value in the upper composite distribution.

Above it, 7850.00 is material because resting stops sit near the taper of the highest visible composite distribution. If that liquidity is reached and buyers continue to hold above the upper distribution, all-time-high territory becomes part of the developing auction.

If not, rejection from 7808.00–7815.00 would show that the upper LVN is still functioning as a boundary. A subsequent loss of 7771.50–7775.00 would favor mean reversion through central value rather than continuation.

Lower distribution: acceptance below central value

The immediate downside response begins with the potential LBAF and the 7740.25 Siege Control region. The Control level carries stacked structural confluence and sits near the open October 2 gap. Its response can distinguish a routine rotation within balance from a more serious attempt to leave the central distribution.

Below it, 7730.75 is the 10-day micro-composite HVN. Acceptance beneath that node and the 7728.50 10-day VAL would place price outside the central micro-composite and into the 7710–7697 southern low-volume corridor. That corridor also aligns with the thinner portion of the broader composite structure.

If sellers sustain trade through the corridor, the 7690.00 October 1 nVPOC and Thursday’s low become the next lower references. Continued acceptance below that balance-low region would expose the 7658.00 composite HVN as the extended downside price check.

If not, rejection below the lower edge followed by a reclaim of 7740.25 would preserve the central distribution and favor rotation back toward the 7771.50–7775.00 VPOC cluster.

Week-ahead auction framework

Daily balance is confirmed while weekly and monthly balance remain developing. Thursday’s rejection suggests that lower prices became unattractive, but buyers still need acceptance through the upper distribution edge before that response can be treated as continuation.

Above 7808.00–7815.00, the auction can test 7832.00, 7838.00 and potentially the liquidity above 7850.00. Below 7730.75–7728.50, sellers must sustain trade through 7710–7697 to demonstrate that the lower distribution is becoming active.

Between those boundaries, movement through 7771.50–7775.00 remains rotation around multi-time-frame fair value. The market is always capable of producing random outcomes, but auction mechanics provide the structure needed to anticipate behavior and participate only after acceptance or rejection confirms the path.
