Daily Contextual Analysis & Plan | September 18, 2026
Friday cleared the prior-session low, rejected the lower auction and rebuilt value into a stacked multi-timeframe VPOC cluster before buyers reclaimed Thursday’s high into the close.
Overnight buyers reached unfinished business above
Friday’s overnight auction opened with initiative buying and advanced to 7739.25, trading through the September 11 naked VPOC at 7736.75. Because that interaction occurred outside RTH, the reference remains naked within the RTH-only framework used in this review. The overnight test still matters: buyers reached the unfinished business, but the regular session would need to revisit it before its RTH status changes.
The advance did not hold. Price rotated to the 7702.25 prior close, established a new overnight low at 7692.25, and recovered before the cash open.
Responsive selling controlled the opening auction
RTH opened at 7710.00, adjacent to Thursday’s value center and the developing multi-timeframe VPOC cluster. Sellers drove price through Thursday’s 7680.50 low and extended to 7675.00. The break cleared the prior-session extreme, but it did not produce sustained acceptance in the lower distribution.
Price paused near the prior low before the final probe lower, then rejected the extension and began rebuilding the range. Sellers achieved the lower extension, but the auction could not maintain trade beneath the prior-session boundary.
The failed lower auction returned value to the upper cluster
Buyers carried the recovery back through developing value. The session VPOC migrated to 7712.50, placing Friday’s highest concentration of RTH business inside the same narrow area as the 7708.75 5-day VPOC, 7711.75 Monthly and 10-day VPOCs, and the Weekly VPOC. This is multi-timeframe balance expressed through distinct references; the confluence defines an important center of trade, not a single interchangeable price.
The late advance reclaimed Thursday’s 7716.25 high and used the resting liquidity above that extreme to extend toward 7729.25. The close near the upper end shows buyers controlled the final phase, but does not yet establish acceptance in the larger distribution above.
Upside requires acceptance through the upper distribution
The first upside reference remains the September 11 RTH nVPOC at 7736.75. Overnight trade reached it, but the RTH auction did not cover it.
If buyers establish RTH acceptance above 7736.75, then assess 7754.00–7758.00, where the composite HVN overlaps the 7757.75 20-day VPOC. If price traverses that region and holds above it, the northern composite LVN near 7774.00 becomes the next pivot.
If not, rejection from the upper references followed by a loss of 7712.50–7708.75 returns the auction to the value cluster; then the lower edge of Friday’s range becomes the next test.
Downside must invalidate Friday’s lower rejection
If sellers clear 7675.00 and establish acceptance beneath Friday’s low, then assess the 7657.25–7657.75 confluence. The Weekly and 5-day VPOCs are marked at 7657.25, while the nearby composite HVN is around 7657.75.
If trade sustains through that high-volume region, the southern LVN near 7647.75 becomes the next transition. Acceptance beneath it exposes the untouched September 16 VPOC at 7622.50. If not, rejection followed by a reclaim of 7675.00 restores rotation toward 7708.75–7712.50.
Auction condition
Friday began with an overnight test of unfinished business above, shifted into an RTH liquidation through the prior-session low, and ended with a failed lower auction that rebuilt value into the upper multi-timeframe cluster. Daily balance remains confirmed. Weekly one-time-framing down remains developing and ends at 7785.50, while monthly balance remains developing.
Above 7736.75, the upper distribution becomes active. Below 7675.00, the lower composite returns to focus. Between those conditions, the stacked 7708.75–7712.50 VPOC cluster remains the central fair-value reference.
