ES Weekly Review | October 26–30, 2026
Upper discovery failed as the auction transferred accepted value sharply lower, leaving 7599.00–7627.00 as the first decision area for the next auction.
The weekly auction repaired higher, failed to hold the upper distribution, and transferred value sharply lower
The week began with repair inside Friday, October 23’s upper distribution—not its lower distribution. Monday reclaimed the 7690.00 composite area, developed RTH value around 7714.50, and reached 7739.50. That repair established the base for the next phase of discovery without changing the larger balance condition.
Tuesday returned to Monday’s 7714.50 RTH VPOC, found no sustained acceptance beneath it, reclaimed Monday’s 7739.50 high, and traversed the 7755.00 multi-timeframe VPOC cluster before extending to 7772.75. The auction was repairing the prior upper distribution and progressively testing whether higher prices could attract durable participation.
Wednesday converted that repair into initiative upside discovery. Buyers cleared 7800.00 and 7812.25, eventually printing the weekly high at 7819.50. The important information was not simply the new high; it was the failure to develop lasting value above the prior upper distribution. The late return toward the 7754.00–7758.00 VPOC cluster showed that higher prices had not yet been accepted.
Thursday began as a rotational auction around that cluster, but the inability to sustain trade above 7754.00–7758.00 weakened the structure. Selling accelerated through the 7725.00–7721.00 composite low-volume corridor and extended to 7709.50 into the true futures close. That decline also repaired Tuesday’s remaining single-print structure and shifted the auction’s focus away from upper discovery and toward lower-value development.
Friday confirmed that transfer. ETH retested Thursday’s 7709.50 Siege Control Line from below and rejected. Overnight trade passed through the 7666.00 October 23 nVPOC, but it remained naked under the RTH framework until regular-hours trade formally covered it. RTH opened at 7669.50 beside overnight value, rejected its opening retest, crossed the 7657.75 composite HVN, and entered the 7647.00–7627.00 composite low-volume corridor.
The first meaningful counter-rotation developed near 7627.00, but sellers regained control. RTH formally covered the 7622.50 September 16 nVPOC, checked the 7614.50 composite HVN, traversed the 7605.00 distribution-separating composite LVN, and liquidated to 7558.25. The lower extreme was rejected, and the late sequence of higher highs and higher lows pulled developing value upward. Sustained late trade migrated Friday’s VPOC from its earlier location to 7613.00 into the close.
What the completed auction says
The week completed a full two-way auction: repair from the prior upper distribution, initiative discovery to 7819.50, failure to build value at the highs, and a decisive transfer into a lower distribution. Daily OTFD is confirmed and ends at 7670.00, while weekly and monthly balance remain developing.
The first decision area is 7599.00–7627.00. Its lower edge is Friday’s newly generated 7599.00 Siege Control Line; 7613.00–7614.50 combines Friday’s closing VPOC with a composite HVN; and 7627.00 marks the far side of the composite low-volume corridor. That concentration makes the zone more important than any isolated print inside it.
Acceptance above the decision area
If buyers establish acceptance above 7627.00, the auction can repair through the 7657.75 composite HVN and test the 7669.50–7670.00 open and daily OTFD termination.
If accepted higher, 7709.50–7714.50 becomes the next material objective, combining Thursday’s lower extreme with Monday’s RTH VPOC and the developing weekly VPOC. Beyond that, 7725.00 and the 7754.00–7758.00 multi-timeframe VPOC cluster return to focus.
If not, rejection from 7627.00 keeps value in Friday’s lower distribution and returns attention to 7613.00–7614.50 and 7599.00.
Acceptance below the decision area
If sellers establish acceptance below 7599.00, the auction leaves Friday’s closing value overhead and reopens 7584.00, followed by the 7558.25 weekly low and the 7554.50 lower composite boundary.
If accepted beneath 7558.25, the completed weekly low has failed as support and lower price discovery remains active.
If not, rejection below 7599.00 followed by a reclaim of 7613.00–7627.00 favors rotation back through 7657.75 toward 7669.50–7670.00.
Week-ahead framework
The higher-timeframe condition remains balance even after Friday’s directional liquidation. Buyers must reclaim and hold above 7627.00 to prove that the lower distribution is being repaired. Sellers must maintain acceptance below 7599.00—and ultimately beneath 7558.25—to continue directional discovery. Between those references, expect two-sided trade to remain attracted to 7613.00–7614.50.
