Initiative selling repaired Monday’s thin structure and rebuilt acceptance inside the 7770–7784 corridor, while the September 21 gap remained unfinished below.
Wednesday converted Monday’s thin upside discovery into a full structural repair. Sellers traversed the entire single-print ladder, repaired the marked poor structure and rebuilt acceptance inside the previously thin 7770–7784 corridor. The session VPOC migrated lower to 7771.25, while the low stopped two ticks above Monday’s 7758.25 low and left the September 21 gap unfinished.
ETH held balance before the U.S. premarket transition
ETH initially remained contained within Tuesday’s upper balance. The first meaningful change developed around 03:45–04:00 Pacific, when selling began to press beneath that balance. That timing does not correspond to a primary European cash-market open; Europe was already trading. It is better described as an early U.S. premarket liquidity transition that introduced the first persistent downside pressure.
The overnight decline paused near Tuesday’s lower references, but it did not produce a durable reclaim. RTH opened at 7823.50 below the prior close and near Tuesday’s low. Sellers initiated immediately, confirming that the overnight weakness was being accepted rather than rejected.
Initiative selling repaired Monday’s thin structure
Monday’s open-drive advance left single prints at 7818.50, 7811.75, 7800.25 and 7793.75. Those prices represented thin, one-directional trade rather than established two-sided value. Wednesday’s RTH decline auctioned through the full ladder, eliminating those single prints as untouched structural references.
The move also fully repaired the poor structure marked on Monday’s profile. This is the other side of initiative price discovery: a fast directional auction can move efficiently through low-volume space, but if the market later loses acceptance above it, that thin structure becomes vulnerable to repair. Wednesday supplied the return auction.
The completed repair does not mean that every repaired price becomes support. It means those prior inefficiencies have now been revisited. Their future relevance depends on whether the market can rebuild acceptance above them or continues to treat the repaired zone as overhead supply.
The 7789.50 HVN became a waypoint, not a floor
The decline checked the 7789.50 composite HVN and rotated through both low-volume edges of that distribution. A high-volume node often attracts trade because it represents prior acceptance, but it does not guarantee a reversal. Wednesday’s sellers maintained control through the node, demonstrating that prior acceptance was insufficient to stop the lower auction.
The market then entered the formerly thinner corridor between approximately 7770 and 7784. Instead of passing directly through it, price spent the remaining session building time and volume there. This transformed a prior low-volume transition area into Wednesday’s principal area of developing acceptance.
Repeated downward VPOC migration documented that process. The volume center did not remain near the opening distribution; it followed price lower and finished at 7771.25. That migration confirms that executed business accumulated at the lower prices rather than the decline consisting only of transient probes.
Order flow slowed the decline without reversing it
Aggressive selling remained visible into the lower portion of the session. Near the lows, that sell aggression met responsive buying and absorption, producing bounces and preventing immediate continuation into Monday’s low and the open gap.
The response mattered, but it did not establish reversal. Recovery attempts repeatedly failed beneath roughly 7778–7783, and the market continued rotating around the newly lowered volume center. The order flow therefore showed stabilization and exhaustion at the margin, while the auction structure still favored sellers: absorption stopped extension, but buyers did not reclaim the level sequence required to reverse control.
Wednesday’s 7758.75 low finished only two ticks above Monday’s 7758.25 low. Monday’s low therefore remains an immediate unfinished reference. Beneath it, the September 21 gap remains open down to Friday’s 7729.25 high, with the still-open 7736.75 September 11 RTH nVPOC positioned inside that gap.
Upside: reclaim the newly developed acceptance zone
The first test for buyers is a sustained reclaim of the 7778–7784 area. That region contains the upper portion of Wednesday’s newly developed volume and the zone that repeatedly capped late recovery attempts. A brief probe is insufficient; buyers need time and volume above it to show that the lower acceptance was temporary.
Above that band, 7789.50 is the next composite HVN, followed by the 7792.50 session midpoint and prior repaired structure near 7800.25. Acceptance through that sequence would shift the auction away from gap risk and back into the repaired portion of Monday’s profile. Rejection within the band followed by a loss of 7771.25 would instead confirm it as overhead resistance.
Downside: acceptance into the September 21 gap
The 7771.25 session VPOC is the nearest decision reference. Sustained trade below it places Wednesday’s 7758.75 low and Monday’s 7758.25 low back in focus. Acceptance beneath Monday’s low would move the auction into the open September 21 gap rather than merely testing its upper boundary.
Inside that gap, the 7736.75 September 11 RTH nVPOC is the first major structural reference, followed by Friday’s 7729.25 high at the lower gap edge. These are conditional auction references, not guaranteed destinations. Responsive buying above the gap followed by a reclaim of 7778–7784 would indicate that Wednesday repaired the thin structure without establishing durable lower acceptance.
Auction condition
The supplied TPO continues to classify the daily and weekly auctions as developing balance, while the monthly condition remains developing with insufficient data. Wednesday was directionally controlled during RTH, but its late-session behavior created a local balance around 7771.25 after the structural repair.
The broader lesson is fractal. Monday’s initiative buying moved rapidly through thin structure; Wednesday’s initiative selling returned through that same structure and found business in a previously low-volume corridor. Price moved higher to attract sellers, then lower to attract responsive buyers. Thursday’s auction will reveal whether 7770–7784 becomes a durable lower acceptance area or merely a pause before the unfinished low and gap are tested.
